The Budgeting subsystem in BSI provides the necessary functionality for the preparation, calculation of enterprise budgets, monitoring their execution, and analyzing deviations.

When developing a budget, there is an opportunity to use various budgeting scenarios.

BSISupports an unlimited number of budget books, allowing budgets to be separated by functionality or other criteria. Using the standard system functions, it is possible to compare these budgets with actuals or with each other, as well as to consolidate any budgets with each other (actual data from the perspective of budget management is represented in the form of one of the budget books).

There are two types of budgets: operational and resultant. Financial budgets, that is, those budgets that are necessary for preparing standard reports and conducting analysis, are usually classified as resultant budgets. A budget always includes a balance sheet, a cash flow statement (CFS), and an income and expenditure budget (IEB). Other types of resultant budget forms may also be used in enterprises, such as a forecast balance sheet, a profit and loss statement, a CFS determined by an indirect method, a tax plan, and others.

The task of operational budgets is to collect information about planned operations that model the company's activities in the future. If the resulting budgets are based on the double-entry principle, then in operational budgets the operation is recorded "in a single line." Operational plans generally include: operational, investment, and financial budgets.

To transform the data from operational budgets into the resulting budgets, 'operation rules' are used, which are set for each item. Essentially, they describe which items of the resulting budgets will record the debit and credit sides of the operation. At the same time, in an item, it is possible to specify through which item the collection will be carried out and in which item the planned VAT for this operation will be accumulated. Collection is used when the debit and credit parts of the operation do not coincide in time.

The budget always includes an item and time. The item is used for management accounting similarly to the chart of accounts for financial accounting (for example, such dimensions as: responsibility centers, finished goods and raw materials, employees). The system automatically sums values across nested levels. By defining different hierarchies for a single dimension, it is possible to organize data entry at different levels for different items.

For any article, you can specify a formula that allows you to calculate the value of the article. In addition to simple expressions, the system allows you to use special formulas and connect your own functions to implement complex data processing.

As calendar deadlines inBSIdates, financial periods (they may not coincide with months), weeks can be used.

The selection of information and its preparation for analysis is carried out using special wizards, which allow you to determine what information should be selected, how it is interrelated, how it is grouped and unfolded (for example, you can unfold columns by months, responsibility centers, etc.).

A feature of budget functionalityBSIis the ability to perform "real-time allocation." For example, the administration's salary is budgeted at the departmental level. At the same time, when analyzing the budget by product profitability, it is necessary to allocate this amount proportionally, for example, to the planned sales volume. Such allocations can be easily described by the system user, and all necessary calculations will be performed at the time of preparing the information, without changing the primary transactions. This allows for the implementation of scenario selection mechanisms ("what if") and so on.

The functionality of the subsystem is integrated intoFinance, provides the user with access to a set of reference books, both system-defined and user-defined, included as part of the module. This allows not only the formation of multidimensional budget item plans, but also the dynamic change of their dimensionality in accordance with business changes.

The combination of systemic and definable information objects in various variants and combinations allows describing any budget model for any enterprise. Using a standard interface when working with budget functions allows users familiar withBSI, start using additional functionality without special preparation. The system allows setting business rules for data entry, which makes it possible to significantly reduce the number of errors during data entry, as well as to simplify the process itself by including calculation algorithms already at the data entry stage.BSIOriginally designed to work with a large number of users and has special functionality for access rights management and task distribution.

Modern technologies used in the development of the system make it open and integrable. This means that, with the appropriate access rights, any information can be exported to or imported into the system. The use of SQL servers as a database allows the use of external tools to extend functionality, for example, to expand OLAP capabilities.BSI.
